Our Policies

Acceptance.     Adult patients are accepted on a private basis only. You may either join the Denplan or ‘pay as you go’.

Appointments. You can either book your inspection appointment in advance at the end of each course of treatment or wait for a reminder letter/text. If you are booked in for a long treatment appointment we will endeavour to contact you two days before by text or call to remind you of your appointment.

Missed Appointments.  We work hard within our practice to provide those very important emergency appointments our patients sometimes need. To help us, we ask that you contact us to cancel your appointment if your plans change. This frees up your appointment slot so we can offer the time to someone who may require emergency treatment.  We do have to make a charge to patients that persistently fail their appointments.

Complaints.   In this practice, we take complaints very seriously indeed and try to ensure that all our patients are pleased with their experience of our service. When patients complain, they are dealt with courteously and promptly so that the matter is resolved as quickly as possible.  We learn from every mistake that we make and we respond to customers concerns in a caring and sensitive way.

Patient Behaviour.    We operate a zero-tolerance policy against violence or abusive behaviour towards our staff or patients. Anyone suspected of such will be reported to the Primary Care Trust and /or Police and removed from our lists.

Disabled Access.  There is a step into the Practice but we can open the second door which has level access into the waiting room.  Due to the age and layout of the building there are three steps into the downstairs surgery which we are more than happy to assist you with. Unfortunately, the patients’ toilet is upstairs so we cannot accommodate a wheelchair user. Please contact the surgery for further information.

NHS Patients.  Kirkgate Dental Surgery is owned by Dr Adam Bradley who has a limited contract to provide children’s NHS General Dental Services. The NHS gives you the right to see any dentist you wish at this practice, and to be provided with the full range of NHS dental services. The NHS services include examination, diagnosis, advice and planning of treatment, preventative care and treatment, periodontal treatment, conservative treatment, surgical treatment, supply and repair of dental appliances, the taking of radiographs; the supply of listed drugs and listed appliances, emergency treatment and the issue of prescriptions.

Out of Hours Emergency Treatment. Out of hours emergency dental treatment is provided by NHS 111.

Denplan patients should call 0800 401 402.
